DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE

Start a child on the path while he’s young, and when he is old, he will not forget what he’s being taught” (Pro. 22:6 –The Clear Word)
Today the youth are heading in a direction that causes concern to many of us. The goal of the Pathfinder Ministry is to train these youth and direct them in the right path, so that they can be great citizens to the church and to the Community at large.
It is of great joy to sacrifice our time, talent and other resources as needed on a weekly basis to help these youth. This Ministry helps them to develop self-respect, self-worth and independence. They are also being taught skills such as camping, drilling, drumming, knot-tying, first-aid,.. just to name a few.
In addition to teaching them these skills, we remind them that this earth is temporary and it will soon pass away, therefore their main goal should be eternal life.
I would like to extend appreciation to my staff.

DEPUTY DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE

Dear Fellow Believers and Friends,

The honour of participating in the Pathfinder Ministry is a great privilege! Those who serve in this Ministry invariably feel rewarded when they accept the call, since service to God, is the fulfilling act and motive.

There are many days when waking up on a Sunday morning becomes a challenge. What with the vicissitudes of our daily chores, being coupled with the awesome task of taking care of the precious gifts that God has entrusted to us. Children were always the most precious in the sight of Christ while He walked the earth. Not only did He say "suffer the little children to come unto Me and forbid them not", but He also admonished us that if we were to harm them, or cause them to sin in any way, we would would have to answer to Him. What did Jesus say about those who would harm our children? "It would be better for him/her if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea." Sounds pretty harsh? The point is, that we have to humble ourselves as little children to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Our responsibilities as caretakers of God's "little children" is an awesome responsibility that we as Counselors take seriously. Parents of Pathfinders entrust their children to us, and we all put out our best efforts to take care of them. In fact, speaking for myself, I would give my own life in protecting any of these children in my care! All the children are precious, and they all have positive contributions to make to the Pathfinder Ministry. We are happy to serve them, and we invite other children to join us. Parents, the experience your children will enjoy in Pathfinders would be great and meaningful. Pathfindering is not only about learning more about Jesus, but also about life, nature, personal security, survival techniques, the outdoors, exercise, diet, first aid, etiquette, community service, among many other skills that can help them prepare for the future.

We look forward to welcoming your children between the ages of 10-16 in being a part of the Pathfinder Ministry. Please speak with us at your earliest opportunity.

To the members of the Immanuel Church who have special skills that could be beneficial to the children, we encourage you to contact us and indicate your area of interest. Your skills can be used to help teach the children honours that they can earn, and that could also help them in their academic pursuits. Some of the area of skills needed are (but not limited to) carpentry, electrical safety, sewing, medical, cabinet making, pottery, gardening, animal care, and sports.

May God bless and keep you in His care.
